As an AI consulting firm, we’re well aware of the paradox of supporting AI and sustainability, especially in an industry known for high energy consumption and water use. We’re not here to claim that we’re perfect, but we also won’t pretend that sustainability isn’t important to us. 

At Tasko, we believe the most practical way we can support sustainability within our industry is by focusing on the areas that we can directly influence. We do this by purchasing eco-friendly and recyclable office supplies, sharing everyday appliances in the office to combat short-term waste, choosing services that are environmentally responsible, and maintaining our office equipment, from furniture to IT equipment, to extend its lifecycle. 

We also promote sustainability through  our work with customers by focusing on long-term adoption over short-term hype. Our services are tailored to our customers’ needs, and nothing more. We don’t recommend oversized or unnecessary. Instead, we offer staff training to ensure confidence in use and that the tools are used efficiently, and we source solutions powered by energy efficient data centres.

Social and economic sustainability are equally important to us, especially when working with local SMEs. As a company, we support our staff by promoting a healthy work-life balance, offering flexible hours and remote work, practicing inclusive hiring practices, and committing to equal pay. 

For our customers, we keep our prices and services transparent, so they know exactly what they’re getting and at what cost. We also focus on building long-term relationships in order to combine our strengths to make a greater impact, whether that’s educating local communities,  creating new opportunities, or raising awareness.  

Sustainability at Tasko is an ongoing process. It requires making informed choices every day, sticking to small and achievable goals, and being honest about our impact and our limitations.
